Ireland Residency / Atelier AIR
2024
Work created while on a 2-week artist's residency with Atelier AIR, at Westcove House on Ireland's southwestern coast, right off the Ring of Kerry.
I took this time to explore new mediums and revisit old.

Woodcuts
Exercises to get back into the groove of woodcut carving and printing: Margaret (1921) series + my first ever proper reduction woodcut of local Derrynane Beach.
Margaret (1921), Woodcut Variations, 10.75’’x15.5’’, 2024
Derrynane Beach, Woodcut, 15.5’’x21.5’’, 2024
Postcards
A tradition on international residencies: postcards! Printed around 80 of these linocut 5x7 postcards while on residency. The translation of the Irish on the sign: not a literal ‘Westcove Pier’, but “hole of the oak trees”, oaks being most sacred trees in Celtic history.
The group!
I shared this experience with a lovely group of seven other artists.
The place!
